NORTH MIAMI BEACH

For several decades, the area of North Miami Beach has taken strides to bolster its environmental credentials, including an impressive expansion of its parks in the 1980s and more-recent efforts to improve its landscaping and other features. Over the years it has grown to be a must-visit destination for tourists and it’s a place residents will tell you they love.

Living here you’ll get the big city perks of Miami but with a smaller town feel, making it ideal for people who would find living downtown too hectic. Even though it doesn’t have as much hustle and bustle as Miami, you’ll still get to enjoy some of the best food and drink establishments, shops, boutiques, and other businesses that can be found anywhere in Florida.

This diverse neighborhood also has a very diverse mix of cultures, most evident at The Museum of Contemporary Art that hosts interesting installations that frequently attract rave reviews.

Unfortunately, public transportation is not the area’s best feature, and with a Transit Score of 49 you won’t be able to rely on buses or trains for your daily commute. But consider moving here and using your bicycle instead, as North Miami Beach has a solid Bike Score of 61. So you can still leave the car behind if you move to this city of more than 41,500 residents.
